More Than Capital

At Middle Ground, we define “investment” more broadly than most developers. The people who shape our work aren’t only the ones who write checks. Our most important investors are the neighborhoods we build in, the residents who make them home, and the local organizations and advocates who carry deep knowledge of this community. We measure return the way they do: in housing that’s attainable, blocks that feel whole, and a Third Ward that grows without leaving its people behind.

Who we consider our investors

The community and its residents. The people who live here are the first stakeholders in everything we build. Their needs set our priorities, and their trust is the return we work hardest to earn.

Local organizations and interest groups. Neighborhood associations, advocates, and community institutions bring context and accountability that no spreadsheet can. We build better when we build with them.

Land, resource, and expertise partners. Organizations and individuals who contribute property, materials, or specialized knowledge are investing in our developments as surely as any financial backer, and we treat that contribution with the same seriousness.

On capital partnerships

Middle Ground is primarily self-funded, and we are not seeking outside investment at this time. Our model is built to move on our own resources and our own timeline, free of the return pressure that pushes housing out of reach. That independence is exactly what lets us keep our developments attainable by design rather than by subsidy. We occasionally work alongside aligned asset holders whose goals genuinely match ours, but a financial stake has never been the price of a seat at our table.

Ideas and expertise are always welcome

If you bring a strong idea, technical or intellectual expertise, or a perspective that could make our developments better, we want to hear it. A new design approach, a smarter financing structure, a community partnership, something we haven’t thought of yet: we never turn down a good idea. Bring it, and let’s talk.

Always looking for the next opportunity

We are continually seeking opportunities, in real estate and in the neighborhoods we serve, to make a meaningful difference. If you see a parcel, a partnership, or a challenge worth solving, we’d like to know about it.

We look forward to hearing from you.
